Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) was established in 1948 and is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services.
The institute is presently affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the MCI for conducting undergraduate and various post graduate medical courses.

Courses :
The institute offer courses like B.Sc. (Nursing), MBBS, Doctor of Medicine in Anaesthesia, Doctor of Medicine in Anatomy, PhD (Physiology, Microbiology & Preventive, Social Medicine).

Admission Procedure :
The eligibilty for undergraduate courses is 10+2 pass and for post graduate courses the elibility is graduation. The admission to most of these courses is done through various entrance tests at different levels and for rest of the courses the admission is done directly.

B.Sc. (Nursing)
Eligibility:-
The candidate must be an Indian National or a subject of Nepal or Sikkim, Age 17-25 years.
Educational Qualification:
10 + 2, or equivalent examination of 12 years duration of a recognized University Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English. The candidate should have not less than 50% aggregate marks in all subjects. The candidate should have passed the examination in single attempt.
Selection Procedure:
Selection will be based on the written examination score merit list
Merit listed candidates based on the interview and medical fitness will be called for B. Sc. (Nsg).

MBBS
Duration:- Four and a half year followed by internship of one year.
Age:- Must have attained the age of 17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application
Eligibility:- HSC in Science with with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these 3 science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.
