Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education & Research (SMIMER) was established in the year 2000 and is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) and approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Government of India. It is a self-financed medical college & hospital governed by the Surat Municipal Corporation.

Candidate must have passed the 2 year Pre-University or Plus Two or 12th examination or equivalent with Science subjects obtaining at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with English as a compulsory subject. Selection will be based as per the university norms.
