Eligibility Criteria for MDS

 The following are the eligibility criteria for admission into the MDS program at NUHS:

  1.  A Bachelor Degree (B.D.S) from any recognized university/institution with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
  2.  An Indian National who has successfully completed the Graduate Programme in Dentistry (GPdent) from any recognized institution.
  3.  Candidates should have passed their qualifying examination conducted by the respective dental board.
  4.  Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

What are the branches of Dental Surgery?

  1. Endodontics

Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the pulp and nerve system of the teeth. The prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses affecting this part of the tooth are the emphasis of this branch of dentistry.

  1. Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the profession of using braces to realign crooked teeth. Braces can be detachable (clear) or fixed (black) (colored). Fixed braces are used to repair crooked teeth and bite disorders, whereas removable braces are utilized for aesthetic reasons.

The exam is a single test to be conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and is a prerequisite for admission to MDS programs. The exam is divided into two parts – The objective Part and the Subjective Part.
