DY Patil Education Society has established DY Patil Medical College in Kolhapur under Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956. The college was started on the 1st of September 2005. This is a medical college allied with Health and Allied Sciences.
The college was started in the year 2005. Initially, it had only three departments namely Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology. Later on, other departments were added like Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Community Health, Psychiatry, Surgery, Radiotherapy, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Dentistry, etc.
The motto of the DY Patil Education Society is Dnyanadheenam Jagat Sarvam’.
