What is the BDS Admission Process?

- Admission to BDS is usually through the national level NEET exam, which is conducted across the country.
- Since 2016, it has become mandatory for students to report to NEET for admission in medical courses like MBBS, BDS etc.
- To be eligible for the course, the student must obtain at least 50% marks in the 10 + 2 Eligibility Test.
- Applicants are only allowed to participate in the college admission process if they meet the eligibility criteria.
- Once students have passed the exam, they can start counseling for college admissions.
What are the BDS eligibility criteria?
Eligibility for the course is a prerequisite for admission to a particular college and course. The main eligibility criteria for admission to BDS courses are given below:
- Interested candidates must pass 10 + 2 Eligibility Test or equivalent degree in a recognized institute with a minimum of 50% combined marks.
- They were required to study Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at 10 + 2 levels.
- Almost every college offering this course has admissions based on NEET scores. The student must pass an examination to be eligible for admission.
- If students succeed in qualifying for admission, they must attend counseling sessions organized by colleges.
- There are usually three rounds.
BDS Entrance Exam
